Resetting our intentions

Kids can remind us how to reset our intentions for our behavior. Yes, they can trigger us and they teach us when they do. They teach us how to emotionally regulate and learn how to respond rather than react.

And trust me, the first three days back at school for my kids, I’d been reacting more than responding intentionally. Just being honest.

Then yesterday, my son’s teacher sent us the intentions all the third graders in the class wrote for the year.

And they were on point. I needed to see them and hear them.

My favorites:
🔅Stay calm
🔅Be patient
🔅Be flexible
🔅Take breaks

Which ones resonate the most with you?

They apply in work and overall life, as leaders and parents. 🙌🏽
